Ravelympics - The term sounds like nonsense, but it is a celebration of the fiber arts timed to coincide with the Olympics. A lot of sillyness does gets spread around, but doing something we enjoy in a spirit of play and a little competition is valuable.
My personal challenge for the 17 days of the Summer Games 2012 is to spin all the fiber I got at the DFW Fiber Fest this year, as well as much of the fiber stashed in various parts of the apartment as I can. I want to end this period with thousands of yards of yarn.
To set this up, I not only need to get all the fiber located and pulled together, but I need to start washing, drying and carding everything, so when the opening ceremony occurs, I can start spinning.
